PROGRAM DESCRIPTIONS

Irving Gymnastics Association is a non-profit organization sponsored by the City of Irving Parks & Recreation Department. IGA offers recreational classes for children ages 3 through high school. We also offer team classes level three to eight.

Preschool - Ages 3-5
As an introduction to gymnastics, IGA offers a range of special motor skills classes with a clear emphasis on the joy of movement. The preschool program is designed to encourage whole body exercise, including development in strength, flexibility, and coordination. Classes are structured, but not rigid. Children can channel their physical energy, while learning to socialize with other students in a safe and fun environment. Children must be potty trained.

Girls Program - Ages 5-18 IGA offers girls a complete range of instruction from beginning to advanced gymnastics. We provide quality instruction to those interested in recreational gymnastics, as well as those who wish to pursue competition. Our beginning level classes introduce gymnasts to the four basic womens gymnastics events: vault, uneven parallel bars, balance beam, and floor exercise. Gymnasts will develop their flexibility, posture, balance and strength, as well as their confidence.

Boys Program - Ages 5-18

IGA features beginning through advanced gymnastics for boys ages five through eighteen. We provide quality instruction for those interested in recreational gymnastics, as well as those who wish to pursue competition. Our beginning level classes introduce gymnasts to the six basic men's gymnastics events: vault, parallel bars, pommel horse, high bar, rings, and floor exercise. Gymnasts will develop their flexibility, posture, balance and strength, as well as their confidence.

Competitive Program
In addition to a full range of recreational gymnastics, IGA offers a competitive program for girls. Pre-Team and Team classes are designed the dedicated and talented gymnasts who wishes to pursue competition. Classes are structured around the USA Gymnastics Competitive Routines, with a strong emphasis on building the strength and flexibility required for more advanced gymnastics.
