I hope all your kids had a great first day back to classes. This is a hard time for students to get back in a routine but we hope the next couple weeks goes smoothly for you all! I just wanted to give you all a few reminders as we finish up these last two weeks of August.
Tuition - September tuition will be charged on the 1st this month. If you have a different card from the one we have on file then please make sure you stop by the office before the 1st and get it changed on your account.
Annual Registration Fee - The annual registration fee will be charged with your September tuition on the 1st. The fee is $50 per family and is a one-time yearly fee. This will be a separate charge on your account.
Gym Closed - The gym will be closed Friday, August 31st - Monday, September 3rd in observance of the Labor Day Holiday. While we are closed all our staff will participate in our Annual Gymnastics Association Training workshop in Austin over Labor Day weekend where they will be certified in the levels they will be teaching this upcoming year. They will receive 16 hours of intense instruction on their levels of gymnastics by some of the top Gymnastics Instructors in the country. Friday & Saturday classes will not be made up as they are the 5th days of the month and our classes are based on 4 classes a month. Monday can be made up and you can stop by the office and Ms. Bre will be more than happy to assist you in getting a class set up.
Super Saturday’s - After a summer long hiatus we are looking forward to our Super Saturdays! SS will be on Saturday, September 15th from 6:00-10:00pm. The cost is $25 for the first child and $20 for the second and then $15 for every child after. There are two ways to sign-up now:
1. Online – Log into your account and sign them up under the camp section
2. In Person - Stop by the desk and sign them up and we will charge your account
You can attend if you do not sign-up but the cost at the door is $30 per child.
Dance Classes – We are so excited to announce the start of our new Ballet/Tap combo Classes this fall with our new teacher Ms. Aris. Classes will be on Monday, Wednesday and Fridays and will be for beginners – Advanced. You can add a class to your schedule for only $30 extra a month! Students will need to be dressed in a black Leotard, pink tights, black tap shoes and pink ballet shoes. We will be hosting a meet & greet with refreshments in the multi-purpose room with our new teacher Ms. Aris next Wednesday from 5:30-7:30. Stop by and say hello and get your student signed up for a class. Here is a brief into about our new Teacher…
My name is Aris Lazo, I am 26 years old and a recent graduate of UTA. I currently work for the district of Irving as the secretary to the executive director of Specialized Learning Services. I’m a product of the Irving school system where I graduated from Irving high and was a part of the dance/drill team for 4 years where I won most improved and sophomore of the year and was also a member of the elite kick team. After graduating high school, I continued my education in dance by taking multiple genres of dance at North Lake College under the direction of Brenda Parker-Braswell as well as assistant teaching. I look forward to meeting each and everyone one of your students and getting the opportunity to share my knowledge and passion of dance with your student.
Tae-kwon-do Classes – I am definitely still looking for someone to come teach classes for us a few days a week. I have had several interviews but just have not found the right person. If you know of someone who has the training and would be interested in making some extra money and enriching the lives of our students please let me know.
Ninjas Classes – Coach Bobby will be the new Ninja coach and coaching all the boys in our program. He is a great athlete, has a background in parkour, martial arts and gymnastics. He is super excited to be able to take on the Ninja Program and to be working with your boys. We will be transitioning all our boys into his classes on Monday, Wednesday or Friday. Please stop by the office so we can get your ninjas in the right class.
Late Arrivals – It is very important that your children be on time to class. The class begins with stretching and a warm-up that is imperative to their muscle development. Without stretching, there is a higher rate of injury. If you are later than 10 minutes you will not be permitted to attend class that night. You will need to reschedule the class through the office.
Gym Hygiene – Please make sure your children’s finger & toe nails are trimmed to an acceptable level. Acrylic nails or nails any length longer than your fingertips are not acceptable due to safety reasons for our staff and other children. Deodorant is also preferred even for our youngest gymnast. They get in gym and sweat in places that they are unaware of and it makes coaching uncomfortable. We appreciate your help with this!
If you have any questions please let us know!
Thanks so much
Mrs. Shelly & the IGA Staff
