March Gymnastics News

This month is definitely full of Madness!  Can you believe this weather? Spring is almost here and we are so excited for all that we have planned for the rest of the semester up until our Showcase week, which is planned for May 18-22nd.  Stay tuned for more details about our “Olympic” themed program, which shows off all the skills of your gymnasts!

Pre-Team – Our Pre-team classes start this Tuesday, March 3rd. If your child is interested in trying out for our team program this class will give them a good idea of what is to come. If you have not signed your child up for the program there is still time. The classes will be on Tuesday & Thursdays. Coach Shelly will be coaching the 4-7 year olds from 5:00-6:30 and Coach Nick will be coaching the 8 and up from 6:30-8:00pm. There is more information about this class on our website under the “News” tab.

Closed for a Gymnastics Meet – Our gym will be hosting our annual “Hula Fest” gymnastics meet this coming weekend March 7-8th. To do this we will be closed this coming Wednesday, March 4th – Tuesday, March 10th to set the gym up, host the meet and then put the gym back together. All regular classes will resume on Wednesday, March 11th. These 5 days we are closed will take the place of our yearly closing for Spring break.

Spring Break Week Classes – We WILL have regular classes beginning Monday, March 16th – Saturday, March 21st.

Spring Break Camp – We will host a fun week of camp while the kids are out of school for Spring Break. Camp will run Monday – Friday March 16-20 from 7:30-5:30pm. You can find our schedule and all the fun days we have planned for the kids as well as getting registered on our website under the “CAMP” tab.

Super Saturday – Super Saturday will be Saturday March 21st 6:00-10:00 pm.  You can sign up for this fun night under the “Camp” tab once you have logged into your account. Your kids will not want to miss this fun night.

Ninja Gym Shirts – If your son does not have a Ninja shirt you will need to stop by the office and purchase one. They are $20 and all boys need to be dressed in a gym t-shirt for class.

Dress Code – Please remember your gymnast needs to be dressed in a LEOTARD without a skirt for class. No jewelry or gum chewing is allowed. Tumblers need to be in elastic waist shorts with a t-shirt that can be tucked in.

Late Class Policy – It is very important that your child/ren be on time to class. The class begins with stretching and a warm-up that is imperative to their muscle development. Without stretching, there is a higher rate of injury. If you are later than 10 minutes you will not be permitted to attend class that night and will need to schedule a make-up class.  It is very important for their muscle safety to warm up first.
FACEBOOK & INSTAGRAM Page - To help with updates and gym activities we have created “Irving Gymnastics” pages. Please search and “like” us so you can be kept in the loop with things. If you do not have social media please check the “NEWS” tab of our website for closings and updates.

Picking-up – Please make sure if you drop your child off for gymnastics that you are here to pick them up as soon as the class is over. We have had recently some children here up to 20 minutes after their class has finished. We CANNOT be responsible for your child once the class is over. There will be a late fee of $15 dollars added to your account if you are more than 15 minutes late. If your child is left more than 20 minutes after class, we will be required to call the Irving Police Department.

Looking ahead to Summer:
Our “Olympic” themed summer camp begins June 1st. We had a great response last year and are looking forward to doing them again. There will be more information next month about the camps.

If you have any questions, comments or concerns please let us know.
