This month is definitely full of Madness! Can you believe this weather? Spring is almost here and we are so excited for all that we have planned for the rest of the semester up until our Spring Showcase, which is planned for Saturday, May 20th. Stay tuned for more details about our “Hawaiian” themed program, which shows off all the skills of your gymnasts!
Spring Break– IGA will be closed next week March 13th - March 18th due to Spring Break. There will be class on Saturday, March 4th but the gym will be closed on the 18th. Spring Break is calculated into our yearly calendar so there will be NO tuition discount this month. Your full tuition is required for your child to continue in our program.
Big 12 Gymnastics Championship - The NCAA Big 12 Gymnastics Championships are coming to Frisco, TX Saturday, March 18th at 4:00pm. We as a club gym have the opportunity to purchase tickets to this awesome event. Tickets are $8 per ticket and can be purchased through the office. This will be a great opportunity for your gymnast to see some great college gymnast up close and personal. I have bought only 50 tickets so please let me know as soon as possible if you want any and I will put you on our list and then get you the tickets once we receive them.
Late Class Policy – It is very important that your child/ren be on time to class. The class begins with stretching and a warm-up that is imperative to their muscle development. Without stretching, there is a higher rate of injury. If you are later than 15 minutes you will not be permitted to attend class that night and will need to schedule a make-up class.
Hair – Please make sure your child has their hair pulled back out of their face when they come to gymnastics. Pigtails seem to work best to keep all the little hairs out of their face. It is a big safety hazard not to have their hair pulled out of their face. I realize some of you come straight from work but please try to get their hair pulled up. I do keep a stock of ponytail holders in the office for those emergencies but please mindful about their hair. Also, if you’re at the store we can always use donations of ponytail holders. We go through about 75 ponytail holders a month so any help with replacing our stock is helpful!
Picking-up – Please make sure if you drop your child off for gymnastics that you are here to pick them up as soon as the class is over. We have had recently some children here up to 20 minutes after their class has finished. We CANNOT be responsible for your child once the class is over. There will be a late fee of $15 dollars added to your account if you are more than 15 minutes late. If your child is left more than 20 minutes after class, we will be required to call the Irving Police Department.
Summer Camp – Our Hawaiian summer camp begins June 5th. We had a great response last year and are looking forward to doing them again. Swimming classes will return this summer as well. There will be more information next month about the camps.
