September Gym News

Summer is almost over and hopefully the kids are doing well with their “homeschooling” and everyone is adjusting to the new “normal”. This year has definitely been one for the books but I’m determined that we will all come out on the other side much better! Here at the gym we are gearing up for a fresh new fall season. Here are a few things we need you to know about…

Covid Updates – We are continuing to make sure our gym is a clean & safe environment for you and your children. We will continue disinfecting all mats after each class and take temperatures as the staff and kids come into gymnastics. We ask that you either wash your hands upon entry or make sure you use the sanitizer that is available at both doors upon entry and exiting. Beginning in September we will now open the front doors for you all to enter through and you can exit through the back doors. The bleachers will be put down so you will no longer need to bring a chair to gym. We do ask that you use social distancing when you sit. If your kids are old enough and can be dropped off for class we ask that you do that to keep the numbers low in the gym. We still have to run at 50% so we cannot have a lot of people in the lobby. Our cleaning crew continues to come every night and clean and disinfect our entire gym. We ask if your child is exhibiting any fever, cough, shortness of breath, sore throat, nausea/vomiting, diarrhea, or congestion/runny nose that you keep them home and schedule a makeup class.

Annual Membership Fee - Our Annual Membership Fee of $50 will be charged on September 1st along with your monthly tuition. You will see 2 charges on your account in September; one will be your regular tuition and the other will be your Membership fee.

Labor Day Closure – The gym will be closed on Monday, September 7th in observance of Labor Day. All classes will resume on Tuesday, September 8th.

New Classes – We will have 2 new classes beginning in September. The first is our Tiny Tots class that coach Kiersten will be coaching. The class will be on Thursdays at 5:00pm. This class will be for 2 year olds and it will be a 45 minute class. The tuition will be $54 a month. If you have a toddler or know of any we would love to have them join us. The other new class we are starting is an Adult Gymnastics class. This class will be on Tuesday nights from 8:00-9:00pm and it will start on September 15th. The class is $72 a month or $25 for a drop in. So if you have ever wanted to try gymnastics now is the time!

Social Media - To help with updates and gym activities we have created an “Irving Gymnastics” Facebook & Instagram page.  Please search and “like” us so you can be kept in the loop with things.  If you do not have Facebook please check the “News” page of our website for closings and updates:

Late Arrivals – It is very important that your child/ren be on time to class. The class begins with stretching and a warm-up that is imperative to their muscle development. Without stretching, there is a higher rate of injury. If you are later than 10 minutes you will not be permitted to attend class that night.  It is very important for their muscle safety to warm up first.

Potty Time – Please help the coaches make good use of class time and take your child to the restroom on the way in to class.

Parent Coaching – Once your child has entered the gym area there should be no interactions with your child during class unless it’s an absolute emergency. This is a safety issue and if your child is paying too much attention to you or trying to listen to you they are missing out on important information the coach is giving. I know you may want to congratulate or encourage them but do so by just a thumb up or a smile! Our coaching staff are trained and are fully capable of coaching and giving corrections to your child. It is extremely distracting for our staff to try to coach a child that wants to only listen to their parents in class. You are paying for gymnastics so please let us do our jobs.

If you have any question or concerns please let us know.
